Pier Cap Formwork

Pier cap formwork (crosshead formwork) is custom steel formwork for cast-in-place construction of pier caps on bridge tops, belonging to substructure formwork. It shapes concrete pier caps, bears lateral concrete pressure and construction loads, and precisely controls section dimensions, bearing embedment positions and surface quality. It consists of face plates, stiffening ribs, flanges, supporting brackets and tie bolts. It can be designed as integral or segmented assembly type with high rigidity and tight joints to prevent slurry leakage and dislocation. Modular design enables easy assembly and disassembly with high reusability, widely used for pier cap construction of overseas highway and railway bridges.
